BADUNG - Safety environment and conditions for rent such as offices, hotels, apartments, and boarding houses are mandated to be well maintained and properly functional. This regulation is inplaced to prevent minor damages, harm and or fatal casualties.
The recent near death incident, experienced by a 33-year-old American citizen (SC) at Anantara Seminyak Bali Resort.
He was reportedly, seriously injured after falling from the 5th floor of Anantara Seminyak Bali Resort (Badung Regency) as told by one of his attorney Hezkiel Paat (Kiel), Monday (20/03/2023), at a ceremonial event in Seminyak area.
"SC, stayed there (Anantara Seminyak) since February 3rd, 2023. He rented the room 505, which is located at the 5th floor of the building" said Kiel.
He continued to tell the media crew of Gatra Dewata, that on Saturday, 4th February, 2023 at approximately 19:00 (WITA), SC left his room and intended to go to the restaurant on the roof floor of Anantara Seminyak. However, the elevator that was supposed to be used to go up to the roof floor, was not working.
SC who found no other access to the roof floor, proceeded to use the stairways of the hotel and went to go upstairs.
Kiel also explained, that it was during this moment, when SC went up the stairs, the ladder he was on broke down, causing SC to fall from the 5th floor and immediately crash the concrete area below, where there were large chunks of rock, metal tools, and glass fragments, " Kiel said.
SC was immediately rushed to Siloam Denpasar hospital for medical treatment for injuries arising from the incident.

The Siloam medical team, which handled SC's condition, conveyed numerous severe open wounds arising from the incident. SC's condition was critical and had to undergo surgery operation on 5th February 2023.
On 9th February 2023, Siloam's (Denpasar) medical team explained that SC had to continue treatment in Malaysia.
Kiel mentioned that "SC immediately continued treatment at Prince Court Medical Center until 17 February 2023". In addition to the discoveries made by Siloam Hospital (Denpasar), a medical examination conducted at the Prince Court Medical Center stated that SC's leg was severely injured and that the left leg was torn.
"In addition, SC suffers from an acute stress reaction and is now continuing treatment for this at Kuala Lumpur, " Kiel said.
Despite of the unfortunate incident, Anantara Seminyak did not express any apology or attempt to start talks about compensation.
In fact, Anantara Seminyak still charged a full fee to SC for 3 (three) nights stay.
"We will consider the next legal step to its fullest in order to protect the rights of SC".
Until the issuance of this release, Anantara have not made any confirmation nor could be reached. (Tim)
